PRESS RELEASE: Inspired by speed dating, artists Katherine Bailey and Louise Benton explore our relationship with expectation vs reality.

Dating can be a real meeting of the incongruity of how we expect things to be and how they actually are. By using materials we interact with daily and working within the fictional narrative of Speed Dating the installation will fuse fantasy and expectation with the mundane and the everyday, creating an exaggerated experience of the female body as an object of scrutiny.

As a tonic, the subtext of the installation is a celebration of female friendship and the solace that can be found within that defiant relationship.
