By Way of Returns rethinks the ways in which historical narratives are constructed through artistic practices that uncover and perform unfulfilled potentials of the past. Specific to the areas of New Cross and Deptford in South East London, this project looks into the local histories that have been contested with issues surrounding migration, race, gentrification and the neoliberal system.
